Lessons learned and shared by the LGMS Excellence Award winners 2022-23

​At the LGAQ Annual Conference, LGMS celebrates the success of the LGMS Risk Excellence Award winning councils and their respective risk projects. At the conference this October, the Queensland local government community celebrated four deserving council winners for the 2022-23 year. Congratulations to all the councils and the individual team members involved. It was certainly a difficult decision for the LGMS Board, with a large number of exceptional nominations submitted.

Some of the most valuable lessons learned from projects can be applied across multiple projects within an organisation on completely different subject matters. It is because of this that we recommend a central risk team member (second line of defence) from your organisation be involved in facilitating or participating in these sessions, so relevant learnings can be communicated and applied across the organisation.
