Webinar: Local Government Risk Management During Upcoming Storm Season

Back

We invite you to our upcoming webinar discussing risk management during the upcoming storm season

With storm season now upon us and the Bureau of Meteorology indicating the strong possibility of another La Niña, the risks arising from natural hazards such as storms, cyclones and associated flooding is likely to be greatly increased. Understanding how to prepare for and respond to these events is key to ensuring council’s assets are best protected (minimising the risks of loss or damage to council facilities and interruption to council operations), liability risks are well managed as well as the health and safety of council staff.

An Emergency Response Plan outlines the order and nature of your council’s response to an event. It documents roles and responsibilities and sets out what to do before during and after an emergency.

Join us as we aim to provide LGMS members with practical guidance to assist the development and implementation of Emergency Response Plans at council facilities ahead of the upcoming storm and flood season.
